David Hudson House
Not surprisingly, the first substantial and permanent house in the fledgling community of Hudson was David Hudson’s own. Commodious, it served not only as Hudson’s residence, but also as town hall, church meeting house and inn, until other buildings for those purposes had been constructed. Simple and sparse in detailing, it was not ashamed to display the most careful and sensitive styling in its entrance doorway. Like the town itself, David Hudson’s house reflected, in both its uses and its appearance, the heritage of western Connecticut from which he came.
