Abi C. Brown House

The Abi C. Brown House features Italianate details, such as a bull’s eye window in the front gable and broad overhanging eaves with paired brackets. A wraparound porch was removed at one time and restored in 1987. The front doorway has been change, and a rear section has been added.
Abi C. Brown was married to Jeremiah Brown, half brother to John Brown. She built this house after Jeremiah’s death as a place to raise her young children. The building contractor is said to have been Noah Carter.
