DOWNTOWN PHASE II SPECIAL MEETING – THURSDAY, JULY 5
Downtown Phase II continues to evolve. Significant changes to several aspects of the Downtown Phase II development will be the subject of a special meeting for Hudson Heritage Association members on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
Representatives of the Hudson Planning Department and the City Manager’s Office will explain these changes and invite open discussion during the 7:30 p.m. meeting at Barlow Community Center. While HHA does not normally hold general meetings or programs during the summer months, this special meeting evolved from ongoing dialogue between HHA and city officials.
Revisions to the original Phase II plans include:
Elimination of the hotel from the project.
Elimination of commercial structures fronting the north side of Owen Brown Street in favor of single-floor residential properties.
Elimination of “flex space” commercial buildings.
Changes to traffic patterns to protect adjacent historic district residential neighborhoods.
Ongoing design work to ensure that the architecture of new construction is of a size, scale and character to complement First and Main and the Historic District.
HHA members are encouraged to attend this meeting. In addition, we invite you to share your feedback with the Planning Commission during public hearings on July 9 and July 23. Planning Commission meetings are held at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.
